I'd like to find some nice-looking riding clothes, since I occasionally get tired of always looking crummy and gross while I ride. I'm a slightly broke high school student who is saving up for a car and an awesome hunter/jumper. So, needless to say, the $30-$80+ price tags on the nice riding shirts were not appealing to me. Nor were the $60+ price tags on the jeans. But I want to stay close to the style of those clothing, cuz I love the way it looks.I ride english and western, and I mainly want polos, jackets, and jeans. I've found some pretty good buys on used cruel girls on eBay, so I'm good there, but I still want some cute cool & warm tops. I love love love the look of Joules clothing, but that's NOT happening. I also like the Tropical Rider and Mountain Rider type shirts and jackets. I can order online, I have access to your typical mall stores & Penneys, Meijer, Walmart, Kohls, etc. My idea of cheap (new):Polos- $10 or lessWarmer shirts- $15 or lessFleece jackets/hoodies- $20 or lessJackets-$25 or lessCoats- $35 or lessJeans- $20 or lessBut I am willing to invest a little bit more IF, and only if, the article is going to last me practically forever (I'm done growing)Thanks
Are there any outlet stores near you? They usually have good deals. I know my trainer and her mom buy most of their polos at the outlets. If you're looking for regular old jeans just for practice, check out Goodwill or used clothing stores. You're probably going to say eeewww gross, but if you're ONLY using them for practice its worth it. Then you can save your nicer, brand named stuff for showing or whatever. I'm strapped for money too (not to mention nothing in my closet fits anymore), so I bought a few pair I can ruin at the barn- and 3 pair cost less than a a single pair from Wal Mart. You'll probably have to try a lot on, but I'm willing to bet you'll find something.
